How Does the Voice Alert Motion Detector Work?

You can record up to 6 messages on the system for each specific area you want monitored. The recorded message can be up to 6 seconds long. The message can be, "Child near pool" or "Car coming up driveway", etc.

The system comes with one wireless sensor/transmitter and a remote receiver/speaker base unit. You can install the sensor wherever you want. It can be installed in just a few minutes. The sensor runs on a 9V battery that can last for up to one year.

Voice Alert can work in all kinds of weather. It will work in temperatures ranging from -14F degrees to 120F degrees. It's best to mount the sensor at least 7 ½ feet off the ground and somewhere that isn't hit by direct sunlight.

The signal from the sensor can reach 300 feet through walls and up to 1000 feet in open space. It has a false alarm deterrent, voice warning for low battery as well as an LED light that comes on when the sensor battery is low.

The motion detector will ignore small animals under 40 lbs. If you want to monitor small children though, you might have to mount the sensor lower to the ground than the recommended 7 ½ feet.

Some Disadvantages of Voice Alert

Tree branches can cause false alarms, so you'll want to install the sensor where tree branches and brushes won't interfere with the signal.

The signal can have difficulty going through aluminum siding or metal surfaces. Installing the sensor on a window will solve this issue.

Cold temperatures can affect the life of the battery. The battery will usually last for a year, but it can be shortened because of the cold weather.

As you can see, the disadvantages of the Voice Alert wireless motion detector are very few. If you want added protection for your home, especially on the outside, then the Voice Alert is a great system that costs less than $200.

And if you want to add additional sensors to the system, you can buy extras. All of the sensors can work on one base unit.
