With wireless technology, a security camera system can be easily installed in a short period of time.
You can use the film and picture footage as evidence in an investigation. It's great for identifying suspects. You can set up home security cameras anywhere in or outside your home.
Most people will set up cameras on the outside of their house, near the entrances. If a potential intruder sees that you have a camera installed on your house, more than likely they won't break in. So the camera is a pretty good deterrent.
You can set up live broadcast or recorded footage camera systems. Live broadcast cameras capture the action as it's happening real-time. Recorded footage cameras are good for monitoring the outside of your house or other property, keeping an eye on childcare workers and for catching intruders. The footage can be used as evidence in police investigations.
Some people who can't afford to install home security cameras will use dummy cameras. These are fake cameras that you can hang up outside your doors and make it look like your home is under video surveillance. Some intruders might be able to tell the difference. But, most won't take the chance of breaking into your home if they see the camera, fake or not.
If you have kids, you can use hidden cameras, like a nanny cam, to keep an eye on the babysitter or nanny. I'm sure you've seen on your local news, stories about child abuse being caught on a hidden camera. With the nanny cam, you can make sure the person taking care of your child is doing their job, and you can feel safe about leaving your child in their hands for the evening.
You can also set up a small camera in your child's room to keep an eye on them while they're playing or sleeping. You would use live broadcast video cameras for this. If anything should happen, you'll be able to see it in real-time on the camera.
The technology used in home security cameras have advanced so much in the past few years. There are many different cameras to choose from. The cameras are much smaller now and some can be hidden in plain sight. They can also be tamper proof in case an intruder tries to disable them. If you have a wireless camera system, you can have it set up so that all the monitoring is done from your computer.
Don't rush out and buy that camera system without knowing exactly what you want. Not all camera systems are alike. Some will have the features you want, some won't. Do some comparison shopping on the internet.
I will have a section on my website describing the different type of camera systems available from well-known security companies. This way, you won't have to spend so much time searching all over the internet to find the right one for you. I hope to have this up very soon.
In the meantime, write down all of the features and options you want in a home security camera system. This will make your search for the right system much easier.
